Nikon Tilt Shift 45mm - Jumping through rain puddles
I've been enamored with the tilt shift effect in images, especially in portraiture, ever since I've seen first a tilt shift photograph, a few years back. I don't know why it took me so long to rent a tilt shift lens... All I can say is that I'm in love!
Knowing I was going to second shoot for a wedding this past weekend, I rented a Nikon 45 mm TS, for some fun, artsy images. It was my first time using a tilt shift lens. It took me less time then I expected to get comfortable using the lens.
The day before returning the lens, I decided to play a little more, and photograph my three and a half year old. Since the weather wasn't great for berry picking (which is what she would've liked to do), we went rain puddle jumping in the industrial area of downtown Portland. She had a blast!
It was hard getting her to sit still for a few 'posed' images. Just way too much excitement! She doesn't get to do it often, like that, to her heart's content :) I got her to slow down for a few minutes though, when I mentioned treats...
Typical for Portland, the rain made room for sunshine soon...
Anatomy of a giggle...
She acts and talks so 'grown up' so often, that I forget at times she's just a three and a half old silly girly girl...
... Lots, and lots, and lots of jumping and splashing, and delighted giggles. :)
I don't quite know what made her check the boots - maybe the sloshing sounds that came out of them with every step she took. She thought it was the coolest things that they were filled with rain water though!
...modeling fees were paid in blue cotton candy Cold Stone ice cream ;)
